ADHD Awareness Month – October 2024

October is International ADHD Awareness Month

ADHD Awareness Month, held every October, is a global initiative dedicated to raising awareness about Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).

At ADHD WA, we are committed to raising awareness about ADHD, reducing stigma surrounding the condition, providing accurate information, and fostering a supportive community for individuals with ADHD and their families. This year, the theme “Awareness is Key” highlights the importance of understanding ADHD and how awareness can lead to better diagnosis, treatment, and support for those affected.

ADHD WA invites you to join us this Awareness Month:

🍊 Wear #OrangeForADHD
Share a photo of you rocking orange for the day on social media.
Use hashtag #ADHDAwareness and #OrangeForADHD and tag ADHD WA and we will repost it on our socials.

FUN FACT! Orange is the colour for ADHD Awareness.
Orange combines red, the symbol of pure energy, with yellow, the symbol of happiness. Orange represents enthusiasm, happiness, creativity, and stimulation.

💡 Light Up Orange
On Friday 4 October – Sunday 6 October 2024 landmarks across WA will be lighting up orange to promote ADHD awareness.
Invite you to visit the landmarks and spread awareness by sharing photos with your friends and family and across your social media using the hashtags #OrangeForOctober #OrangeForADHD and tagging ADHD WA.

📣 Call to Action – Enhancing ADHD Support as an Election Promise

With the upcoming state election in March 2025, now is a critical time to raise our collective voice and address the ongoing lack of support for individuals and families impacted by ADHD. We urge you to join our efforts by writing a letter to your local Member of Parliament and urging them to bring this to the attention of the Department of Health and Minister Amber Jade Sanderson.
