The research examines Adverse Health Outcomes in Developmental Disorders: The Role of Loneliness. It looks at feelings of loneliness and health outcomes in adolescents and young adults (13 – 25 year olds) with and without Neurodevelopmental Disorders (NDDs) (e.g., Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Autism). The study will involve you completing an online survey about your health and wellbeing. This will take approximately 10 minutes and will be completed online.
Please, find the research here.
The research will be the first to explain the contribution of loneliness to the significantly elevated levels of adverse mental and behavioural health in young people with NDDs. This will guide strategies to prevent and reduce loneliness and preventable chronic disease, which in turn will provide benefits to young people with NDDs and impact positively on the multibillion dollar public health costs.
