Psychometric Testing is made up of scientific tests that measure mental capabilities, cognitive strengths, and behavioural styles.
We offer a Psychometric Testing service for young people aged 6 – 16 and believe it’s an extremely valuable step in every child’s ADHD experience.
Even though this process is called Psychometric “Testing”, there are no “right” or “wrong” answers. Responses simply provide insight on your child’s specific ADHD characteristics. Tests are run in engaging, safe environments which ensure young people feel comfortable and at-ease throughout the testing process.
Types of tests
Tests cover three types of assessments.
- Cognitive Assessments (IQ) help develop an understanding of learning capability, including their relative cognitive strengths and weaknesses.
- Psychometric Assessments give insights on attention, memory, and executive function.
- Educational Assessments provide information about academic abilities in areas such as language, reading, comprehension, written expression, and mathematics.
Using what’s discovered
All assessments include a report of the results, which parents can then share with educators or health professionals.
Information gathered — along with a comprehensive developmental history through a parent interview — can assist in further psychological or medical assessments. Results also allow for effective and more personalised treatment, therapy, management, and so on. Additionally, they’re beneficial for the development of individualised learning or curriculum adjustment plans with your child’s school.
