ADHD Coaching for Parents

Support for you, so you can support your child

Parenting a child with ADHD can be exhausting. You may feel like you’re constantly problem-solving, walking on eggshells, or just barely holding it together. You’re not alone – and you don’t have to do this alone.

Our in-person parent coaching gives you a calm, supportive space to unpack challenges and find practical tools that work at home and at school.

No formal diagnosis needed. Just a willingness to try something different.

What a Coaching Session Looks like

Start with what’s real
Maybe mornings are chaotic, school communication feels overwhelming, or your child’s motivation is slipping. You don’t need to have the answers – just bring whatever’s happening right now.

Unpack the challenge
Our coach will ask thoughtful questions and reflect back what she hears. You may start to uncover what’s really going on – like a missed skill, an emotional trigger, or a system that just isn’t working.

Explore practical strategies
Together, you’ll look at what might help, such as:

  • Creating simple, ADHD-friendly routines
  • Reframing how you give instructions or feedback
  • Managing screen time without meltdowns
  • Setting up school supports or advocating more effectively

Leave with something useful
Each session ends with a clear takeaway – something small and do-able you can try at home right away.

What Coaching Is Not

  • Not therapy – You won’t be unpacking childhood trauma or mental health diagnoses. But if that’s something you need, we can refer you to one of our ADHD WA psychologists.
  • Not a parenting lecture – You won’t be judged, blamed, or handed a one-size-fits-all script.
  • Not just talk – Every session moves you toward action.

Why Parent Coaching Can Change Everything

Children with ADHD often struggle with organisation, motivation, emotions, and communication, and so do their parents. Coaching offers space, support, and real strategies that make everyday life more manageable.

  • One-on-one support with an experienced ADHD coach
  • Tools to manage daily routines, school stress, and emotional ups and downs
  • Strengthen your relationship and feel more confident, not conflicted, in your parenting
  • Learn to advocate for your child at school
  • Support that meets you where you are – no diagnosis or referral needed

Frequently Asked Questions

What can coaching help with?

Coaching provides support to help you work through challenges and achieve goals that matter most to you and your family.

Depending on your situation, coaching can support:

    • Challenges with school transitions and daily routines
    • Goals around motivation and staying organised
    • Setting and maintaining screen time boundaries
    • Building emotional regulation skills
    • Improving communication with schools
What does a typical coaching session look like?

Coaching is a practical and supportive conversation where you are the expert on your child, and the coach acts as a guide helping you find what works best at home and at school. Each session is about 50 minutes and is designed to be calm, focused and completely personalised to your family’s needs

How many sessions will I need?

That depends on your goals. Some parents find a few sessions helpful for addressing specific challenges, while others choose ongoing support during key transitions. We will work with you to create a plan that suits your needs and fits your schedule.

Can both parents attend the sessions?

Yes. Coaching is most effective when both caregivers are on the same page. You’re welcome to attend sessions together or take turns, whichever works best for your family.

Will my child be there?

Will my child be there?
No, these sessions are just for you (and your co-parent, if they’d like to attend). This gives you the space to be open, focused, and solution-oriented so you can support your child in a calmer, more connected way.

If your child shows interest in having coaching themselves, you’re welcome to discuss this with your coach. If it feels like the right fit, they can begin their own coaching journey at their own pace, with support tailored to them.

Do I need a diagnosis to access coaching?

No. Your child does not need a formal ADHD diagnosis. If you’re navigating challenges related to attention, behaviour, or executive functioning, this support is for you.
